Donald Trump supporters are calling for TV host Jimmy Kimmel to be fired over remarks he made regarding the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was tragically shot and killed on September 10 during an event at Utah Valley University while speaking at the first stop of his ‘American Comeback Tour.’ The 29-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was shot in the neck by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who has since been charged with aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.
Kimmel addressed the tragedy on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, by airing a clip of Donald Trump being asked about Kirk’s death by a reporter outside the White House. The reporter asked how the president was “holding up” after the murder, to which Trump responded, “I think very good,” before shifting the topic to the ongoing construction of a new ballroom at the White House.

Kimmel criticized Trump’s response, remarking: “He’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.”
The late-night host continued by showing another clip of Trump speaking with Fox News, where he again deflected questions about Kirk’s assassination to discuss his White House renovations. Kimmel then said, “There’s something wrong with him, there really is. Who thinks like that?”
Kimmel’s comments quickly sparked backlash from Trump supporters, many of whom took to social media to express their outrage. Some fans called for Kimmel’s firing, with one person commenting, “He should be f**king sacked over this,” and another describing his remarks as “absolutely disgusting.”
The backlash also spread beyond Kimmel, with other celebrities facing criticism for their comments on the incident.
As of now, Kimmel has not responded to the calls for his dismissal, and UNILAD has reached out to his representatives for comment.
