Trump Accused of Using AI in Charlie Kirk Assassination Statement Amid Glitchy Video

Donald Trump is facing accusations of using artificial intelligence in a recent statement about the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, after viewers noticed some unusual glitches in the video.

Kirk, a prominent political activist and ally of Trump, was tragically shot and killed on September 10 during an event at Utah Valley University. The 31-year-old conservative commentator was struck by a bullet while attending a debate hosted by Turning Point USA, the organization he co-founded.

In response to the incident, Trump shared a four-minute tribute video from the White House in which he condemned the “heinous” assassination of his “very good friend.” He praised Kirk as a “patriot” who “devoted his life to the cause of open debate” and described him as a “martyr for truth and freedom.” However, viewers quickly pointed out several glitchy moments throughout the video, sparking speculation that the POTUS might have used AI to produce the footage.

Glitchy Movements and Missing Details

Viewers noticed unsettling details in the video, including Trump’s hand appearing to “jump,” and his ring finger seemingly disappearing and blending into his right hand. One Twitter user wrote, “Weird moment at 19 seconds in. I feel like I’m losing my mind.”

Others pointed out that the entire video or portions of it seemed unusually off, with some speculating that parts might have been created using AI. “Just look at his hands the whole time. The proof is there. No need to look for the more subtle hints,” one Reddit user commented.

Possible Explanation: Editing Technique

While many speculated that AI was used, others suggested a more conventional explanation: the use of a “Morph Edit”. This technique is often employed in video editing when multiple takes are needed but can’t be done in one shot. In a morph edit, the end of one take is combined with the beginning of another, and the editing software seamlessly blends them together. A Reddit user explained, “It’s a common editing tool called a ‘Morph Edit’ that you use when you can’t get everything in one take.”

Some viewers also pointed out that the background in the video seemed to change as the scene progressed, with the lighting and tonal quality appearing to shift, which they interpreted as a sign of a “time cut.”

Public Reaction

Trump’s tribute to Kirk has garnered a lot of attention, and while the conspiracy theories surrounding the video’s authenticity continue, many remain focused on the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk. Authorities are still searching for the suspect in Kirk’s death, with investigators believing the shooter acted alone and fired the fatal shot from a nearby roof.

At this time, the White House has yet to comment on the controversy surrounding the video, but viewers are continuing to analyze the footage for further clues.
