Pregnancy at 12 — and a Secret No Child Should Carry
Tressa’s life was thrown into public scrutiny when, at age 11, she became pregnant. At the time, she claimed the father was a local boy — but the shocking truth remained hidden until years later.
In 2009, she finally told authorities the real story: she had been sexually abused by her older brother, Jason Middleton, who assaulted her at a construction site. She had been just 7 years old when the abuse began.
Jason, then 16, was eventually convicted of rape, with DNA evidence confirming paternity, and was sentenced to four years in prison.
A Lost Daughter and a Spiral into Addiction
Tressa gave birth to a daughter, Annie, but just two years later, she was forced to give her up for adoption due to her struggles with addiction and mental health. She spiraled into depression, alcoholism, and a $500-a-day heroin addiction.
“The last time I saw my daughter, she cried for her new parents. It broke me,” Tressa told Closer Magazine.
