At the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships, a man finished with his head in his hands and *something* sticking out of his shorts.
At the tough decathlon, Alberto Nonino of Italy was going for glory in the 400m run, but people saw more than they expected.
The 100m sprint, long jump, shot-put, high jump, 400m run, 110m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and 1,500m run are the 10 events that make up the competition. It takes place in Cali, Colombia.
There are ten games that have to be held in two days, so it’s a very demanding event. You’d be afraid of getting hurt or tired.
But this rival had a special issue to handle in the middle of the race… take a look:

The athlete got off to a great start in the middle lane, but it didn’t take long for people to notice that he was moving a little funny and adjusting his shorts with his hand.
It turned out that Nonino’s penis had come out. David Sanchez de Castro, a sports reporter, spoke out about the event in a brave way.
The writer said, “Maybe I’ve explained myself badly.” He had to hold his penis because it was getting out of the side of his shorts and making it hard for him to run, which is normal when your dongle is swinging back and forth.
As his legs hit the pavement, the athlete frantically tried to fix the problem, but it looked like nothing worked.
When the running group turned the last corner for the final sprint, he fell to the back of the pack, even though he had been close to the front at the start of the race.
His time was 51.57 seconds, which put him in last place. The video went popular for all the wrong reasons.
Being in the news might not have been what he had hoped for, but he decided to see the bright side.
After making the mistake, Nonino wrote a message to his friends on Instagram.
“I just want to talk to you a little bit about the rumpus there’s been on blogs and social media in general,” he said then.
“I know it was an accident, and I’d like to let you know that I’m aware of the response. You don’t need to send me links to the blogs out there.”
“I’m trying to laugh about it now but immediately afterwards I felt terrible and I’m thankful to my friends and family for helping me get over what happened a few hours later.”
The athlete said that he was lucky to be strong because this kind of thing could have been very bad for someone else.
“The journalistic world worries about cases of bullying throughout Italy and around the world and then publishes these articles that for a more sensitive person could have done a lot of harm,” he said, per the Daily Star.
