People cheered when David Tennant made a jab at Donald Trump in his opening speech at the BAFTA Film Awards this year.
The actor made fun of the President of the United States and then talked about him by saying, “Speaking of villains.”
After making fun of Trump, he said, “Donald Trump said he hasn’t seen The Apprentice because it’s a 15. You won’t find it on Nickelodeon.
He then made a joke that calling his name three times was like calling Beetlejuice.

As with most things involving Trump, Tennant’s jokes caused a stir, and the BBC had to take out some of his comments.
The awards are shown two hours later than planned, which lets the BBC cut any content they want, maybe to avoid getting slapped by the Oscars.
After an opening with visits by several famous people, including Brian Cox, who used to play Dr. Who and sang “500 Miles” by The Proclaimers, Tennant made the joke.
Tonight’s show, host by a Scottish star, has entries from movies like Conclave, A Real Pain, Emilia Perez, and Anora. It is one of the last big award shows before the Oscars.

One person who saw the joke tweeted, “David Tennant saying ‘talking of villains’ after saying ‘Oh I do adore him, Donald Trump.'”
Someone said: “Trump’s hair in the apprentice… Talking about villains!” “Oh David Tennant, what a man you are.”
The actor went public and wasn’t afraid to attack a politician, even though he had caused a stir when he made fun of Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the Conservative Party.
Tennant told Badenoch to “shut up” at the British LGBT awards when he won an award for being an ally. “We shouldn’t live in a world where that is worth remarking on,” he said.

“However, until we wake up and Kemi Badenoch doesn’t exist any more – I don’t wish ill of her, I just wish her to shut up – whilst we do live in this world, I am honoured to receive this.”
Tennant has made jokes about Trump before, and this isn’t even the first time he’s called the politician a “villain.”
On the 2015 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, Tennant talked about how bad guys “don’t know they’re bad.” He used Donald Trump as an example of this.
He also made fun of the politician in 2018 when he was on the comedy show The Last Leg on Channel 4.
In an interview, Trump said that Scottish people liked him because of his golf courses. Tennant talked about this and finally said, “Can I say on behalf of the Scottish nation, we f**king don’t?”
