Hungry Fox Rings the Doorbell for Christmas Leftovers—Woman Shares a Holiday Feast

Some holiday guests are furrier—and more persistent—than others.
In Poole, Dorset, a wild fox known as “Mrs Fox” has been showing up at Bea Skinner’s back door almost every day for the past year, waiting politely for a snack.

An Unlikely Friendship

The friendship started last spring, when Bea first noticed the fox slipping into her garden. Realizing the vixen likely had pups nearby, Bea couldn’t resist offering her scraps—each bite was gently carried away, presumably to hungry mouths waiting at the den.

Since then, Mrs Fox has returned day after day, tapping on the door with her paw for attention. On Christmas Day, Bea decided to share some leftover turkey—and caught the adorable scene on camera. The fox sat patiently by the door, savoring her treat and hoping for seconds.

A Gentle Visitor

Bea’s grandchildren adore the fox, nicknaming her “Mrs Fox” and occasionally hand-feeding her morsels of food. “She takes the food so gently, she never snatches,” Bea says.
The fox has even been caught sunbathing on the shed roof, or waiting around just to say hello before moving on with her day.

Urban Wildlife, New Traditions

For Bea, Mrs Fox is a welcome part of the neighborhood—even if she isn’t fed every day. “Urban foxes have evolved,” she says. “I like seeing her pass through my garden.”
Their bond is proof that a little kindness can turn even the wildest visitor into a cherished guest—especially at Christmas.
