Dog and Puppies Rescued From Laundry Basket After Being Abandoned

In an industrial area just outside of Los Angeles, a heartbreaking discovery stopped one worker in his tracks. Sitting alone on the worksite was a laundry basket filled with tiny puppies, their mother tied beside them.

Exhausted, dehydrated, and covered in ticks, the little family had clearly been left behind on purpose. But thanks to quick action and compassion, their story took a much brighter turn.

A Shocking Call for Help

When animal rescuer Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, answered her phone that day, she immediately knew it was urgent. On the other end, a worker described the scene: a basket of fluffy babies abandoned outdoors, with their mama tethered helplessly next to them.

“[They were] literally dumped,” Hall later shared on Facebook. “Thank God a worker noticed them.”

Hall wasted no time. She rushed to the site, worried about how long the family had been exposed to the elements.

A Mama’s Relief

When Hall arrived, she was met with wagging tails and hopeful eyes. The mama dog, later named Polly, seemed to understand that help had finally arrived.

“Mama was wiggling her tail [because] I had come,” Hall wrote. “She was so happy to see me. She knew help had come for her little family.”

Hall carefully untied the rope that kept Polly tethered and gently lifted each puppy from the basket. She whispered words of comfort as she carried them to her car, assuring them that they were safe now.

Emergency Care at the Hospital

Polly and her three puppies — Bowie, Rolly Polly, and Fidget — were rushed to Camino Pet Hospital. There, the vets discovered they were not only dehydrated but also infested with ticks and struggling with digestive issues.

The little family received immediate treatment, fluids, and plenty of love from the staff. Though weak and tired, they finally had the care they needed to heal.

Thriving After Rescue

Weeks after their ordeal, the once-abandoned family is thriving. Bowie, one of the puppies, has already been adopted into a loving home where he’s enjoying life with his new family.

Meanwhile, Polly, Rolly Polly, and Fidget are still waiting for their happily-ever-afters. With their sweet, affectionate personalities, Hall is confident that their perfect families are just around the corner.

“They’re all the sweetest, most thankful babies ever,” Hall shared. “Mama has not stopped wagging her tail.”

A Second Chance at Life

What began as an act of cruelty — a helpless family left in a laundry basket — ended in hope thanks to a watchful worker and the dedication of rescuers. Today, Polly and her pups know safety, kindness, and love.

And soon, each of them will know the warmth of a forever home.

Because sometimes, rescue changes everything.
