When Stefanie Bergunder walked toward a hospital in Carmel, Indiana, she spotted what she thought was a man standing outside, gently feeding birds. Excited, she considered joining him — but within moments, she realized something was off.

From a distance, the figure appeared completely real. The “man” seemed to be holding a bird, perhaps releasing it after rehabilitation. The artwork was donated to the hospital’s cancer center by Shelly Schwarz, in honor of her husband Joe, who passed away from throat cancer in 2018. Alongside the donation, she contributed $10 million to support the center.
