Tyler Robinson’s Chilling Messages to His Roommate Revealed After Assassinating Charlie Kirk

Newly released details of the chilling messages sent by Tyler Robinson to his roommate after the assassination of Charlie Kirk shed light on the suspect’s mindset following the crime. Robinson, who is charged with seven offenses, including the aggravated murder of the conservative commentator, allegedly confessed to his roommate in a series of texts.

The Murder of Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on September 10. During the event, Kirk, a prominent political activist, was fatally struck by a single bullet to the neck. Robinson, 22, was arrested shortly afterward and charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.

In addition to his charges, prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Robinson. Investigators have continued to uncover disturbing details surrounding the murder and Robinson’s actions in the days that followed.

Disturbing Texts Between Robinson and His Roommate

In a press conference held on September 16, Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray revealed the shocking text messages Robinson sent to his roommate after the killing. These texts provide a disturbing insight into Robinson’s actions and mindset, showing a premeditated and intentional plan to assassinate Kirk.

According to the messages, Robinson allegedly told his roommate, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it.” Afterward, Robinson went on to confess, saying, “I am, I am. I’m sorry.” The roommate, seemingly shocked by the confession, asked Robinson if he was joking, to which Robinson responded, “No, they grabbed some crazy old dude then interrogated someone in similar clothing.”

A Week of Planning and Preparation

The messages also revealed that Robinson had been planning the murder for over a week. In one exchange, Robinson confessed to his roommate, “A bit over a week I believe,” indicating that the murder was not a spur-of-the-moment decision but part of a longer, carefully thought-out plan.

In further exchanges, Robinson described his efforts to retrieve the rifle used in the crime, admitting he had left it in a bush after changing outfits. He expressed concern about the rifle’s serial number and his father’s reaction if he couldn’t return the gun. Robinson also mentioned that his father, who had become a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump, had been very focused on the rifle, which he referred to as “grandpa’s gun.”

Robinson’s Final Confession and Plans to Turn Himself In

In the days following the murder, Robinson reportedly began to have second thoughts. He texted his roommate, “I’m going to turn myself in willingly,” suggesting that he was prepared to face the consequences of his actions. Robinson also urged his roommate not to speak to the media and to remain silent if questioned by the police.

The texts culminated with Robinson stating, “You are all I’m worried about, love,” underscoring the emotional conflict he faced after carrying out the assassination.

Prosecutors Seek the Death Penalty

As the investigation continues, the disturbing nature of Robinson’s actions has led prosecutors to seek the death penalty. The case has drawn national attention, with many questioning the motivations behind the murder. Robinson’s confession, along with his premeditated planning, paints a picture of a deeply troubled individual whose ideological opposition to Kirk led him to commit an unspeakable act.

In response to questions about the potential influence of former President Donald Trump on the decision to pursue the death penalty, Attorney Gray stated, “I talked to officials from both administrations, but I was not pressured to make a decision.” The case continues to unfold, with the public awaiting further developments in the prosecution of Tyler Robinson.
