Mother Who Bullied Daughter for a Year Reveals Shocking Admission in New Netflix Series

Kendra Licari, the controversial figure at the center of the new Netflix docuseries Unknown Number: The High School Catfish, has made a disturbing admission that has sparked global attention.

The series, which was released on September 13, follows the shocking story of Kendra’s teenage daughter, Lauryn, who was being relentlessly bullied by an anonymous person. After a year of torment, the police investigation uncovered the disturbing truth: the anonymous bully was none other than Lauryn’s own mother, Kendra.

Kendra’s actions led to her being charged with two counts of stalking a minor. In March 2023, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 19 months to five years in prison. However, Kendra was released from prison in August 2024.

Filmed over the course of 2023 and 2024, Unknown Number not only documents the investigation but also features Kendra’s personal reflections on her actions. The series, which has garnered nearly 42 million hours of views worldwide, delves into the emotional toll the entire situation has taken on her and her family.

In a recent interview, Kendra revealed that she was initially hesitant to appear in front of the camera but eventually embraced the opportunity. Skye Borgman, the director of the series, explained that Kendra was nervous at first, but over time, she found the process cathartic and insightful. Borgman shared, “She actually ended up really loving the experience. At the end of it, she said it was kind of fun.”

Kendra’s participation in the documentary seemed to offer her a chance to reflect deeply on her actions. Borgman remarked, “Every time I would ask a question, she would really have to think about some things, and I think that was really good for her.” Kendra also expressed a desire to do it for Lauryn, hoping her daughter could understand her side of the story.
