FBI Updates Investigation into Charlie Kirk’s Assassination, Key Evidence Found

The FBI has issued a crucial update in its investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot at a debate event at Utah Valley University on September 10.

During a press conference on September 11, FBI Special Agent Robert Bohls confirmed that authorities had located key evidence related to the shooting, including a high-powered bolt-action rifle believed to be the weapon used by the shooter. The rifle was found in a wooded area near the scene, where investigators believe the shooter fled after the attack.

The FBI also discovered a footwear impression, a palm print, and a forearm imprint at the scene. They are analyzing these pieces of evidence in hopes of identifying the suspect.

Bohls emphasized the importance of public assistance in locating the shooter, urging individuals who attended the event to send in videos and photos. He confirmed that they had already received 130 tips from the public. Authorities also revealed that the shooter is male and appears to be of college age, blending in well with the university environment.

Further details about the suspect are expected to be released soon, though Bohls stated, “We’re not releasing many details right now, but we will soon.” He assured the public that the shooter is not considered a threat to the wider community.

Video Evidence
Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason confirmed that they have obtained good video footage of the suspect, which is still under analysis. He also shared that Kirk’s family is “devastated” by the loss, with Mason expressing sympathy for their emotional turmoil: “I can only imagine what they’re going through.”
