A chilling tweet from Charlie Kirk, the conservative political commentator and Turning Point USA founder, has resurfaced following his tragic assassination in Utah on September 10.
Kirk was shot dead during a debate at Utah Valley University, where he was addressing a crowd of approximately 3,000 people. Just 20 minutes into his speech, shots rang out, and Kirk was struck. Videos from the scene captured his immediate reaction, recoiling in his chair before chaos ensued. Eyewitnesses, including Emma Pitts, a reporter from Deseret News, described the moments following the shooting, recalling how everyone in the crowd initially dropped to the ground in fear, then scrambled to flee as panic spread.
Amid the devastation of his death, a tweet from 2014 has now surfaced, which eerily foreshadowed his fate. In the tweet, Kirk had written:
“Did I just get shot by an AR-15? Feels like it.”

This haunting message from nearly a decade ago has drawn attention, with many noting the tragic irony, as AR-15 rifles are often associated with mass shootings in the U.S. However, authorities have yet to confirm the specific weapon used in the attack on Kirk.
The AR-15 is one of the most popular firearms in the U.S., with estimates suggesting that around 25 million of these semi-automatic rifles are in civilian hands.
Kirk’s death shocked the nation, and tributes have poured in from all corners of the political spectrum. Donald Trump, a strong ally of Kirk, confirmed the tragic news on Truth Social, writing:
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
In light of the assassination, Trump ordered American flags to be flown at half mast across the U.S. in honor of Kirk, stating,
“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.”

Kamala Harris, former Vice President and current Democratic politician, also expressed her condolences, writing on X:
“I am deeply disturbed by the shooting in Utah. Doug and I send our prayers to Charlie Kirk and his family. Let me be clear: Political violence has no place in America. I condemn this act, and we all must work together to ensure this does not lead to more violence.”
As authorities continue to investigate the shooting, questions remain regarding the motives behind the attack and the identity of the shooter. The investigation is ongoing, with no suspects yet arrested.
