A mother’s worst fear became a tragic reality when her three daughters—Olivia Decker, 5, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Paityn Decker, 9—failed to return home after a scheduled visit with their father, Travis Decker.
On May 30, 2025, Whitney Decker desperately contacted the police, saying that her daughters had not come back from their visit with Travis and that she feared something had happened to them. Tragically, her fears were confirmed when the bodies of the three sisters were discovered on June 2, near Rock Island Campground in Washington state, not far from where Travis’ truck had been abandoned.
The Horrifying Discovery
The girls’ bodies were found in a remote area, with plastic bags over their heads and zip ties around their wrists. The discovery was chilling and left the community reeling. The investigation quickly focused on their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, who is now the prime suspect in the murders. Decker is facing three counts of first-degree murder and kidnapping and remains on the run, with police warning the public that he may be armed and dangerous.

Decker’s ex-wife, Whitney, had raised concerns about his mental health and unstable living situation in the months leading up to the tragedy. She had expressed fears over his potential to endanger the children, leading to restrictions on his visitation rights, which were limited to every other weekend.
Decker, who had no permanent address, had been living in his truck, staying at campsites and motels. A chilling audio recording from a September 2024 custody hearing has surfaced, in which Decker pleads with a family court judge to restore his full access to his daughters. In the recording, he talks about the camping trips he took with the girls, claiming they were safe and secure.
