22-Year-Old Goes Viral for Never Washing Her Face

Tia Zakher, a 22-year-old TikTok creator, has gone viral for her unconventional skincare routine—or rather, her complete lack of one. Zakher’s “do-nothing” approach, which involves no cleansers, no serums, and even no water, has sparked both curiosity and controversy among her followers.

Her journey began on March 14, after years of struggling with acne. She had tried every treatment available, from chemical peels and topical creams to microneedling and exfoliation, but nothing worked long-term. Frustrated, Zakher made a bold decision: she would stop touching her face altogether, including avoiding all skincare products. This radical shift was kept private at first, but by April, the visible changes in her skin—such as flakiness, discoloration, and a rough texture—caught the attention of her growing TikTok audience.

In response to the mounting questions, Zakher posted a video explaining her decision. She described her new routine as part of a natural skin healing process and referred to it as the “caveman” regimen, a term she had found online while researching similar methods. The video went viral, amassing over 10 million views.

Zakher’s skincare experiment has sparked a larger conversation about body trust and self-care in the age of social media. While many people expressed concern for her skin’s health, others admired her confidence to go against the grain and challenge traditional beauty standards.

Her journey adds to the ongoing discussion about how we view beauty, health, and the growing influence of the internet in shaping our personal routines.
